Start->Run->type regedit.exe
Using the navigation tree on the left side of the registry editor window, navigate to this registry key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\9.0\Word\Data
Delete everything in that... Restart word it should work fine. For more information about the problem see Microsoft Knowlegebase KB 242368.
